Enterprises descended upon Hanoi’s International Centre for Exhibition in huge numbers for the 2015 instalments of “The 6th Vietnam-Japan Exhibition on Supporting Industries in Hanoi”, the “Vietnam Manufacturing Expo” and the “Industrial Components & Subcontracting Vietnam” events organised by ASEAN’s leading exhibition organiser Reed Tradex. Thanh Thu reports.

Reed Tradex’s three events in the capital’s International Exhibition Centre drew record numbers
of buyers and exhibitors

These three mega shows, held during September 10–12, provided an invaluable networking platform for attending participants. Amid a convivial atmosphere, many “SOLD” signs were seen on top of new machinery and technologies, reflecting the successful result of these events.

Exhibitors enthusiastically demonstrated their products to curious buyers

Events foster opportunities

According to Reed Tradex, in addition to a significant showing by local firms, international industrialists from over 27 countries and territories were also well represented. They are from Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Poland, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, China, Hong Kong, Israel, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Yemen, Zimbabwe, American Samoa, Australia, Cambodia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Falkland Islands, France, India, Myanmar, Norway, Russia, and Saudi Arabia.

The events saw an incredible turnout of more than 9,000 visitors who came seeking cutting-edge technology and new business alliances.

Exhibitors were seen enthusiastically presenting their high-quality innovations and awe-inspiring breakthroughs with many buyers eagerly forging deals with them.

Reed Tradex co-operated with the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO), Vietrade, and the Hanoi Promotion Agency to bring about win-win business opportunities. This is a key piece of the jigsaw for fostering growth in Vietnam’s supporting industries, and boosting competitiveness within the global market.

Part makers, technology providers, agents, and industrial specialists have bonded and expanded their networks through these platforms in past years, and the circle of supporting industrialists keeps expanding year after year.

“Taking part in the Vietnam Manufacturing Expo 2015 this year, we hope to promote and broaden our market in Vietnam,” said Pawit Kanjanathanee, marketing supervisor from Petrachem (Thailand) Co., Ltd. “Being here, we are pleased to introduce PetraChem to customers. PetraChem lubricants are created from proven formulations which have been developed, tested, and have received the highest customer satisfaction and recognition.”

Similarly, Mototsugu Nakamura, a representative from Panasonic Corporation’s Global Procurement Company, said that “This is the first time I have attended this show. I am really amazed by the size of the events as well as the number of companies that participate here. I am looking for components for our companies manufacturing processes, and I think I can find anything I want here. ”

In another case, Francis Nguyen Quang Hoang, territory manager of IGUS Singapore PTE Ltd, said that “At these events, Igus is looking for new Vietnamese customers in the local market because so far there not so many people who are familiar with dry-tech high-quality products like ours. We produce lubrication-free products with plain bearings – surface contact, which could save costs on shafts and increase the lifetime even in dirty applications.”

At the shows, exhibitors were happy to meet target customers and distribute their products. The plastics, mold-making, and supporting industries in Hanoi and its environs were fired-up to evolve through dynamic momentum. Exhibitors have increased confidence from the networks they have established here and the knowledge they have gained. Also, the events helped better prepare industrialists here for the coming of larger business opportunities following the Asean Economic Community to be established at the end of this year.

Crowds of visitors examined the wide range of state-of-the-art machinery on display

Koji Nishinaka, head of the Business Administration Division under Yanase Co., Ltd’s Business Development Department, was also quite impressed by the events.

“The visitor flow this year is much better than last year, which is a good thing because we can receive even more contacts from potential partners. Also, this year, visitors’ purpose can be identified by their tags. You can tell from the colour of the tags whether they are suppliers or buyers.”

At the shows, the final round of the “Vietnam Welding Competition” unveiled the best welder out of 10 finalists who competed this year.

The Engineer Master Class in co-operation with the German Technology Transfer and Training Centre also wrapped up a successful session with a group of engineers who were delighted at the new knowledge they gained to improve their businesses, and for which they received certificates.
