A special display of im-
ages, paintings and royal
costumes, the new 1000
years show explores the
attire worn by Vietnamese
people from all levels of so-
ciety. The project, conduct-
ed by young researcher
Tran Quang Duc, is consid-
ered the most comprehen-
sive research undertaken
to date on this subject.
Through texts and images,
the researcher provides a
very detailed description
of how Vietnamese people
from the Ly dynasty, Nguy-
en dynasty and beyond
dressed.

A series of photo-
graphs from cities around
the world captured by Ger-
man photographers will be
exhibited at the Goethe-
Institut in Hanoi. 18 pho-
tographers of the German
agency OSTKREUZ shot
across a total of 22 cities
on the theme: the city of
the future. Almost 200
works will be on display.

tion, Windows, by Duong
Thuy Lieu is on display on
the occasion at the Vietnam
Women’s Museum. The win-
dows in her paintings not
explain her view about the
‘inner’ and ‘outer’ world, but
also how art changes our
lives. Windows is ongoing

Concert for the Fall
A beautiful evening of
music featuring famous pia-
nist Anne Chamberlain and
talented Vietnamese artists,
Le Tuan Anh (Violin), Ho
Viet Khoa (Viola) and Nguy-
en Thanh Tu (Cello) is set
for Manzi Art Space. Anne
Chamberlain has worked
extensively as soloist and
chamber musician through-
out the United States and
Europe. Her numerous per-
formances have included
concerts at Alice Tully Hall
in New York City, as well as
appearances at music festi-
vals and universities.
