photographers are show-
ing work in a group show
entitled Autopsy which
gives an insight to their
worlds via intimate, per-
sonal dissections of their
own lives through a lens.

The second Go Pro
Sandcastle competition will
be held on Danang’s My
Khe Beach on July 28. Last
year 70 teams took part
drawing a crowd of thou-
sands. Teams represented
countries including the US,
Japan, England, France,
New Zealand and Australia.
“We hope that Sandcas-
tle Competition will bring
the new beach culture to
Danang and Vietnam and
will be a special way to
boost the growth of tourism
in Danang and Vietnam,”

Destruo is the inaugural
show of the Nha San Col-
lective, an alternative artist
run space in Hanoi. Destruo
references destruction, dev-
astation or ruin. It is a con-
cept that relates closely to
the context of the building
where Nha San Collective is
housed. Once a medicine fac-
tory with different buildings
built by the French, Soviet
and Chinese it has recently
been regenerated and now
houses a number of creative
projects as well as bars.
Destruo features art-
works by artists from Ho Chi
Minh City, Iran, Korea and Ha-
noi. Hyoungsang Yoo’s pho-
tographic works recapture
stills from television news,
and explore the ambiguous
contour between fact and
fiction. Anahita is an Iranian
filmmaker who continues the
tradition of Iranian cinema on
the topic of children, with a
unique view on gender, gen-
der identity and queerness of
children in their prepubes-
cent period. Questioning the
gaps and grey area in social
structures, Thao Nguyen
Phan’s video installation is
an investigation which takes
place in a semi-conscious
state and via the repetitions
of a single gesture.
