natural beauty spots, to ancient villages and Cham ruins

QUANG TRUNG MUSEUM
This museumn is one of the most
attractive destinations in southern Binh
Dinh province. It consists of nine rooms
displaying exhibits relevant to Tay Son’s
insurrection and Emperor Quang Trung
(1771-1779). Quang Trung is a national
hero of the 18th century. Visitors can
enjoy music and demonstrations of Vo
Tay Son, a traditional martial art of Binh
Dinh.

ONG NUI PAGODA
Ong Nui Pagoda was constructed in
1702 and is one of the oldest and most
well-known pagodas in the province.
Located at a height of 400 metres, visi-
tors have to climb 92 steps to reach it.
Once at the top, they can visit Hang To
(To Cave) where the pagoda’s founder
Le Ban led a religious life. Legend has
it that the once ailing King Minh Mang
had a dream in which he was cured by
Le Ban and subsequently ordered the
pagoda to be re-built in 1829.

QUY HOA VILLAGE
This village, part of Quy Nhon city,
is likened to a romantic picture with
its green mountain ranges spreading
along the coastline south of Ghenh
Rang resort. Here, visitors can wander
gardens containing statues of such lu-
minaries as Hippocrates, Pasteur, , H.
Dunant and Hai Thuong Lan Ong. There
is also a memorial house dedicated to
poet Han Mac Tu.

HAM HO ECO RESORT
Ham Ho is a 3km-long section of
river flowing through perennial forests
55 kilometres from Quy Nhon. It is
well-known for being home to plenti-
ful fish stocks, especially during the
wet season. Legend has it that every
year, Long Vuong, the king of the river,
organises a competition for the fish at
Ham Ho. Any of them who pass the
test will be converted into dragons. The
granite river bed shines in the sun like
thousands of diamonds.

HOI VAN HOT SPRING
The Hoi Van hot spring is valued
for health benefits, with alleged good
effects on rheumatism and cardio-vas-
cular and skin diseases. It is said that
the spring was gifted by fairies to a
Champa princess to cure her of a dis-
ease, hence the meaning of the spring’s
name - Fairy Spring. Today, visitors can
entertain themselves here by boiling
eggs in hot pools or sun bathing along
its white sand banks.
