launched its MeliáRewards

aims to boost international
recognition by using the
company’s Meliá corporate
brand name. It utilises a new
slogan - ‘Welcome Back’ - in-
viting customers to return
and enjoy the experiences
and sensations of their stay.
Program members will en-
joy plenty of benefits in-
cluding exclusive member
prices and the chance to re-
deem points for free hotel
nights and gifts from more
than 40 Spanish and inter-
national partners, including
Air Berlin, Air France, and
American Airlines.
With a view to creat-
ing more favourable condi-
tions for visitors to Vietnam,
the State Steering Board
for Tourism has proposed
that the visa-free dura-
tion for visitors from seven
countries be extended. The
proposal was made at the
board’s meeting held in
April under the chairman-
ship of Deputy Prime Min-
ister, Nguyen Thien Nhan,
who also demanded that
identity chips be installed
in taxis at airports for bet-
ter control. The Board asked
the government to consider
extending the visa-free du-
ration from the current 15
days to 30 days for visitors
coming from seven coun-
tries: Japan, South Korea,
Russia, Sweden, Norway,
Denmark and Finland and
suggested that visas for
foreign visitors should be
granted at border gates.
