T
raditionally, the summer time in
Vietnam has been the low sea-
son for tourism. Potential va-
cationers were put off because
June, July and August are the monsoon
months. However, recently, travellers
have come to learn that the central
coast of Vietnam is at its very best
during these months in terms of tem-
perature, frequent blue skies, reduced
humidity and mild onshore breezes.
Central Vietnam is a succession
of spectacular coral sand beach loca-
tions, ranging from fast-paced seaside
resorts, to deserted hideaways and
idyllic tropical islands. However, the
region is a lot more than a beach des-
tination. There is also a wide array of
cultures, retailers, cuisine and natural
beauty spots.
In Central Vietnam tourists can es-
cape the crowds at the ultra-luxurious
Nam Hai Resort, or stay in one of
the many new luxury resorts on My
Khe Beach.
Phu Quoc Island and Con Dao are
newly emerging destinations for sea-
side breaks and beachfront vacations.
Furthermore, cruising around Halong
Bay, spending a night onboard a boat
and relaxing on Cat Ba Island in North
Vietnam are also amongst the favourite
excursions for water loving travellers.
While many opt to visit Vietnam either side of the summer season,
the warmer months are in fact perfect for active adventurers,
