Phu Quoc Island
Phu Quoc is a haven for kayak-
ing, snorkeling, scuba diving, fish-
ing, surfing and many others sports.
The island’s pristine green
forests and alluring white sand
beaches mesmerize tourists who
go there for relaxation and fresh
air. Pristine landscapes on islets
off Phu Quoc are also attractive
to tourists. Plans are underway to
open more resorts on Phu Quoc
and more attention is being devot-
ed to developing its infrastructure.

agers hope that Phu Quoc’s natural
beauty will help transform it into a
hot tourist destination.
Located in southwestern Kien
Giang province, 45km from the
mainland, the 565sq.km island is
home to 32,000 ha of primeval for-
ests, beautiful and clean beaches,
and undamaged coral reefs. One of
its beaches, Bai Dai (Long Beach),
has been chosen by ABC News as
one of the five most beautiful, but
least known in the world
Chen La Resort and Spa is a
good choice for active travellers.

snorkeling trips from one day to
multi-day options.
Getting there - A 10 minute
bus ride from Phu Quoc Airport
followed by a 40 minute bus ride
from An Thoi. Daily flights connect
to Ho Chi Minh City and Rach Gia.
Phu Quoc is 120 km by sea from
Rach Gia. Daily express boats con-
nect Rach Gia and Ha Tien with
Kien Giang.
Mui Ne – Vietnam’s Surf Capital
Just a three-hour drive from
Ho Chi Minh City, the quiet beach

clear water.
Danang – Water sports galore
Furama Resort Danang (furama-
vietnam.com) offers a broad host of
fun beach sports, from kayaking to
diving. It also opened the first div-
ing center in Vietnam. The coast
surrounding the Furama Resort of-
fers a new and exciting destination
for divers in Asia. With its crystal
clear waters, coral formations and
white sandy beaches, this region of
Vietnam has just being discovered
by dive enthusiasts from around
the world. The open water diving
service is available from February to
the end of September. Furama Re-
sort also provides sailing, wind surf-
ing, water and jet skis and banana
boat rides, among other activities.
Don’t miss a dive and kayak trip off
Cu Lao Cham Island.
Lan Ha Bay and Cat Ba Island
Trekking, sailing, kayaking,
snorkeling, boating, swimming and
rock climbing are all available here.
Less famous than Halong Bay, Lan
Ha Bay and Cat Ba Island offer even
more diversions for intrepid travel-
lers and families. Many small lime-
stone islands, hidden beaches, la-
goons and amazing caves allow you
to spend from one night to seven
nights in the area. Trekking, sail-
ing, kayaking, snorkeling, boating,
