Friends Reunited
A French – Vietnamese
art program is set to com-
bine jazz and Vietnamese
traditional
instruments.
Following successful meet-
ings and several concerts
in both France and Viet-
nam from 2002 to 2007,
the musicians of the Mez-
cal Jazz Unit will come back
to Saigon and reunite with
Vietnamese friends in a
new collaboration concert,
Friends Reunited.
Friends Reunited will
be held at L’Espace, 24
Trang Tien, Hanoi on No-
vember 27. Ticket price:

2013
The 16th annual
Toyota Classics will be
held in Vietnam spon-
sored by Toyota Motor
Asia – Pacific and Toyota
Motor Vietnam in coop-
eration with Vietnam
Performing Arts Centre.
This year, Toyota will
present the North Czech
Philharmonic Teplice to
perform a remarkable
program of symphonic
masterpieces from East-
ern Europe.

Tran Van Thao
An exhibition of works
by leading abstract artist
Tran Van Thao will reflect 15
years of the artist’s creative
practice. Tran Van Thao is
one of Vietnam’s pioneering
abstract painters making art
that celebrates the vagaries
of life. Exhibition ongoing
until November 22 at Sofi-
tel Saigon Plaza, 17 Le Duan
Boulevard, District 1, Ho Chi
Minh City.
UK sounds
Together, the British
Council and CAMA Vietnam
will bring the best of the
UK’s contemporary music
to Vietnam. Anushka and
Bwani Junction will perform
live in Hanoi and Ho Chi
Minh City November 9 and
10 respectively. This event is
included in the series of ac-
tivities to celebrate the 40th
anniversary of Vietnam – UK
diplomatic relations and 20
years of the British Council
in Vietnam. The event will
be held at Van Ho Exhibi-
tion Centre in Hanoi and Q4
stage in Ho Chi Minh City.
