SeABank win
Most Innovative
Retail Bank Viet-
nam 2012 Award
The Southeast Asia Bank
(SeABank) has been
awarded “Most Innova-
tive Retail Bank Vietnam
2012” by the UK-based
Global Banking and Fi-
nance Review (GBAF),
marking its success in
stepping into the global
market.
In order to be award-
ed Most Innovative Re-
tail Bank Vietnam 2012,
SeABank had to meet
GBAF’s strict require-
ments about various
aspects of excellence,
including brand values,
corporate financial effi-
ciency, business devel-
opment capacity, risk
management, operation
process, advanced bank-
ing technology, retail
banking product diversi-
fication, market penetra-
tion capacity and poten-
tial growth resources.
GBAF’s
banking
awards 2012 included
over 70 banks, includ-
ing well-known names
such as OCBC Singapore,
DBS Bank (Hong Kong),
Siam Commercial Bank
(Thailand), Doha Bank
(The Middle East), The
National Australia Bank.
Le Thu Thuy, senior

Bank, said “We can now
pride ourselves to stand
in the same line with
other foreign bankers.
The award is not only a
pride for SeABank, but
also a showcase for the
excellence of Vietnam’s
retail banking”
Majestic Saigon Hotel
has recognized as the best
five-star hotel in Vietnam
and issued a Green Lotus
sustainable tourism brand
certificate by Vietnam Na-
tional Administration of
Tourism. It has also won
the annual 2012 Gold Cir-
cle Award for carrying out
online booking, sales pro-
motion and other activities
for the hotel booking web-
site Agoda.com.
Nguyen Anh Vu, direc-
tor of Majestic Saigon Ho-
tel said “Consecutively win-
ning these three awards is
proving that our strategy
to innovate and enhance
our services’ quality in or-
der to attract customers
and enhance our competi-
tive position is right. The
hotel will continue to do
more in the future to keep
the positions.”
Maple Bear runs
for children
Maple Bear teachers
and staff showed their
support by participating
in the Hanoi Run for Chil-
dren 2012 to raise money
for the medical care of
underprivileged children
who suffer from cancer
and heart disease. Cold
and rainy weather did not
reduce the enthusiasm
of nearly 10 thousand
participant who together
raised VND648 million.
The run was inspired by
Terry Fox, who embarked
on a cross-Canada run
to raise awareness and
funds for cancer research.
Although he died at the
age of 22, his campaign
spread around the world
and involved millions.
On
December
12,
2012, Elenoir Chocolate
celebrated the opening of
its new showroom at 1E
Dang Van Ngu, Ward 10,
Phu Nhuan district, Ho Chi
Minh City. This means the
brand is now present in five
big cities in Vietnam, in-
cluding Vinh, Danang, Nha
Trang and Quang Ngai. The
word Elenoir is an amalga-
mation of Elegant (Luxury)
and Noir (the colour of
chocolate.)
Elenoir Chocolate has
expanded to continue to
bring the best chocolate
from Belgium to satisfy the
most discerning palates .

InterContinental
Asiana Saigon has received
two prestigious awards:
Outstanding InterContinen-
tal Hotel and Outstanding
Hotel – Overall Winner in
Asia, Middle East and Africa
(AMEA). Outstanding Hotel -
InterContinental is awarded
to recognise the hotel within
InterContinental Hotels &
Resorts of the AMEA region
with the most successful
overall performance based
on the IHG Performance
Wheel results. Outstand-
ing Hotel – Overall Winner
is awarded to recognise the
hotel with the most suc-
cessful overall performance
amongst all other 227 IHG-
branded properties within
the AMEA region. “These
awards once again confirm
InterContinental Asiana Sai-
gon’s leading position not
only in Vietnam, but in the
Southeast Asia region and
the Asia, Middle East, Africa
and India region as a whole,”
said Pascal Caubo – director
