The Woolmark company is hosting a presentation and exhibition in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to celebrate the 40th anniversary of trade between Australia and Vietnam.

The presentation will be themed 40 Years of Wool in Fashion and Woolmark will highlight leading global designers over the last four decades and their application of wool.

It will be a part of the company’s efforts to develop a sustainable supply chain in Vietnam and to expand its business by introducing Australian wool to the market.

The events will be held at the White Palace Convention Centre in Ho Chi Minh City on October 17 and a few days later at the Daewoo Hotel in Hanoi.

Celebrity appearances will include Hoang Minh Ha, winner of Project Runway Vietnam season one, and vintage pieces were loaned by the Darnell Collection with curator Charlotte Smith to explain the evolution of wool over the last 40 years.

There will also be an exhibition - Grown in Australia, Made in Vietnam - which will showcase Vietnamese products made from Australian wool.

“The Grown in Australia, Made in Vietnam event is an ideal opportunity for us to show our successes with knitting partners and highlight the versatility and supreme performance of Merino wool,” said Jimmy Jackson, general manager of Woolmark.
