VN actively contributes to establishing ASEAN Community

The Vietnamese delegation’s attendance at the meeting aims to make active contribution to ASEAN, uphold the central role of the association in forming the regional structure, take advantages of support provided by partners and accelerate the goal of establishing an ASEAN Community by 2015.

They look to contribute to the orientations for the development of ASEAN in the post 2015 period as well as discussing issues of regional concerns.

The related meetings include ASEAN Summit + 1 with ASEAN's Dialogue Partners, namely China, Japan, India, the US and the United Nations, ASEAN Summit + 3 with China, the Republic of Korea and Japan and the 9th East Asia Summit (EAS).

On the occasion, the Mekong-Japan Summit Meeting will be organized, focusing on the implementation of the Mekong-Japan Action Plan in the 2013-2015 period and measures to enhance cooperation in the future.

On the sidelines of the Summits, ASEAN leaders will meet with the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ABAC).
