Vinashin launches 53,000 ton cargo vessel
The Ha Long Shipbuilding Co., Ltd, an affiliate of the Vinashin Group on Wednesday launched a 53,000 DWT cargo vessel, named Thor Brave.
Thor Brave is the 9th tanker that has been built by the company under a contract with UK-based Graig Group in 2004.
The vessel was designed to be 190m long, 32.26m wide, and 17.5m high. It can run at a speed of nautical miles per hour.
The launching of the vessel is of significant importance as it reflects the strong effort made by the country’s ship-building industry to spur the development of the sector, said the company’s general director Nguyen Tuan Anh.
