Sun Life Vietnam donates exercise equipment to help the community improve their physical and mental health, aligning with Sun Life’s purpose of helping clients achieve lifetime financial security and live healthier lives.

The donation was organised at Tao Dan Park, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City on November 17.

The event coincided with Sun Life Vietnam’s first anniversary, marking the date the company was fully acquired by Sun Life Financial. During the event, participants were given instructions by professional trainers on how to use the equipment as well as useful advice on health and wellbeing.

“In aligning with our global purpose, this year Sun Life Vietnam launched the Medical Second Opinion Service and plans to continue to broaden our health products offers as we focus on our clients. Along with the donation of exercise equipment to Tao Dan Park, we will hold the first Resolution Run in Ho Chi Minh City in January 2018 and hope that the event will attract many participants and help raise awareness in the community about health and wellness,” said Larry Madge, chief executive officer of Sun Life Vietnam.

To mark the first anniversary, Sun Life Financial chief executive officer Dean A. Connor and Sun Life financial president of Asia, Claude Accum visited Sun Life Vietnam offices, showing their support to employees and advisors.

“We’ve expanded to seven markets in Asia now. Vietnam is one of the fastest growing economies for life insurance and pensions in Asia and I believe Sun Life Vietnam will play an important part in our success story,” said Claude Accum, president of Sun Life Financial Asia.

To help clients live heathier lives, Sun Life Financial has launched many programs and initiatives for the community. Millions of dollars have been pledged to support diabetes awareness, prevention, care and research across the globe. In Asia, Sun Life Financial recently conducted the ‘demystifying diabetes’ survey in 5 Asian markets including Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines and Vietnam to help raise awareness of the condition and promote preventative measures.
