South East Asia Joint Stock Commercial Bank (SeABank) and flag carrier Vietnam Airlines recently held a ceremony to celebrate a loan the bank extended to the airline for the purchase of a new Airbus A321-200.

The aircraft landed at Noi Bai International Airport on September 15 and is now ready for domestic and international flights.

This was the first time Vietnam Airlines arranged financing through SeABank and the first time a domestic bank funded the entirety of an aircraft purchase.

The plane is the 22nd of 26 new aircraft Vietnam Airlines intends to buy as part of its plan to expand its fleet by 2015.
