The scheme also aims to solidify trade unions’ role in political ties with the Party and authorities, which is also a method to gather and develop members of trade unions in the new situation.

Accordingly, the project targets the building of accommodations, kindergartens, supermarkets, and cultural and sport facilities for workers in industrial and processing zones.

It looks to complete 10 facilities between 2017 and 2018, and put into use 40 others from 2018-2020.

By 2030, all industrial and processing zones across the country strive to have their own trade union facilities, thereby contributing to improving the cultural and spiritual lives of union members and workers via specific and practical actions.

Under the project, the People’s Committees of provinces and centrally run cities are tasked with creating a favorable environment in terms of land and administrative procedures to develop housing for workers in industrial and processing zones, so that they can hire or purchase.

The provincial-level People’s Committees are also asked to improve the quality of accommodations for workers, develop suitable housing structures and ensure essential technical and social infrastructure of housing projects for workers in industrial and processing zones.
