PM Dung begins official visit to Uzbekistan

Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung arrived in Tasken on the morning of Oct. 2, beginning his three-day official visit to Uzbekistan at the invitation of Prime Minister Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Welcoming PM Dung and the high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese government, Uzbekistani Prime Minister Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed his admiration for the Vietnamese people’s undauntedness and resilience during their past struggle for national independence and unification.

Having spoken highly of Vietnam’s renewal achievements, the Uzbekistani PM affirmed that he will do his utmost to foster the traditional friendship and cooperation between the two countries in all aspects.

For his part, the Vietnamese government leader said he is pleased to visit Uzbekistan for the first time and see with his own eyes great achievements made by the Uzbekistani people.

Later on the day, PM Dung visited the Vietnamese Embassy and met with representatives of the Vietnamese community in Uzbekistan . He also called at the Sergeli textile factory and the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) representative office in Central Asia.

As scheduled, PM Dung will hold talks with his Uzbekistani counterpart, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and meet with leaders of the host country on October 3 to discuss measures to boost economic, trade and investment cooperation, especially in the key fields of oil and gas, and agriculture.
