Over the course of the past three years, Parkson Vietnam’s Go Green campaign has established itself as one of the country’s most respected environmental awareness programmes.

This year’s "Go Green 2013" has the theme "Change the world the green way" and takes place on a national scale during March and April with a number of meaningful green activities. With the theme “Save the Earth”, this year’s campaign kicks off with an Earth Hour event followed by a series of practical activities such as a tree planting festival, an environmentally-minded photo contest and a “No bag” day.

During its lifespan, the Go Green programme has strived to improve the quality of life for Vietnamese, while also protecting the environment. It has also become an active part of the Parkson Vietnam business philosophy. The company is committed to investing in the programme and it has captured the imagination of business leaders, staff and customers alike.

Now in its fourth year, the programme has been a huge success and has made a huge practical contribution to environmental protection by raising awareness among people.

Go Green 2013 kicks off in grand style with an Earth Hour event, which will take place on March 23 from 8am to 9.30pm at Parkson Flemington (HCMC) and Parkson Landmark 72 (Hanoi). In order to send the energy-saving message, all Parkson shopping centres will turn off a number of inside and outside lights from 8:30 pm until close. Shopping will be done by candlelight during this time and there will be many other exciting activities for guests to participate in.

The subsequent tree-planting programme includes activities such as tree planting in Can Gio mangrove forest, Hoa Binh park (Hanoi) and An Vien park (Hai Phong). Tree-planting is a helpful activity to protect the environment.

This year’s Go Green programme sees the exciting addition of a photography contest under the “Nature and Environment” theme.

“Contributing to the preservation of green environment is a major priority in the social activities of Parkson Vietnam. Through the annual Go Green programme, we look forward to the participation and support of Vietnamese people in order to bring positive changes for the environment.

This year's programme, which features many exciting activities, such as a photo competition and a tree planting festival, will not only convey meaningful messages and practical social benefits but also encourage the spirit of environmental protection,” said Tham Tuck Choy, general director of Parkson Vietnam
