Parkson polishes its profile to focus on northern market

Parkson has become the leading retail and distribution investor in northern provinces with the recent opening of its biggest department store in Hanoi.


Parkson is quickly becoming the most prestigious player in the northern retail market

Tham Tuck Choy, general director of Parkson Vietnam, did not hide his ambition when talking with VIR that the opening of the Hanoi Keangnam Landmark Tower department store increasing the number of Parkson department stores in Hanoi to two.

“Hanoi is the retail centre of the north with revenue comprising 80 per cent of the total retail revenue of northern region, with an increase of 28.2 per cent in 2010 will be the best destination for our outlets,” Choy said, adding that Parkson planned to set up additional four and even six department stores in the capital.

“The opening of Parkson Landmark 72 marks an important milestone for Parkson in Vietnam, particularly Hanoi’s market,” he said.  Parkson Landmark 72 is the second department store of Parkson in Hanoi, after the first Parkson Viet Tower opened in 2008 with total square of 11,000 metres, only less than one-third space of the second one.

“With rising income levels and living standards, together with an insatiable passion for top domestic and international fashion brands, Hanoians are the ideal customers Parkson is targeting. We believe that Parkson Landmark 72 will be the new one-stop shopping paradise that satisfies the demands for fashion and shopping of the people here,” Choy added.

With a total gross retail area of 35,600sqm, Parkson Landmark 72 is the biggest and most luxurious department store in Vietnam.

Located in the Keangnam Hanoi Landmark tower, Parkson Landmark 72 has many advantages since it locates on the new centre of Hanoi, linked by many key highways and convenient access to Noi Bai International Airport.

In addition to the department store, the Parkson Landmark 72 includes other services such as the world-class InterContinental Hotel, Grade A office space, luxurious apartments, exhibition centres, a cinema, a range of restaurants and many other entertainment facilities.

Parkson Landmark 72 has five levels, divided into separate retail areas to create convenience for customers shopping for their desired products and services. It will also showcase a collection of renowned fashion, perfume and cosmetics brands for young fashion conscience people. This will be complemented with a food court, supermarket and other services.
