Ho Chi Minh City welcomes New Year with brilliant fireworks

| Ho Chi Minh City celebrated the New Year with great enthusiasm |
Notably, one high-range and three low-range firework shows took place at Thu Thiem Tunnel (District 2) and Dam Sen Cultural Park (District 11), Cu Chi Tunnel (Cu Chi district), and Rung Sac Square (Can Gio district) from 0:00 to 0:15 on January 1, 2018.
The privately-funded fireworks exhibitions, particularly the one at Dam Sen Park, are a long-standing ‘tradition’ in Ho Chi Minh City to celebrate such occasions as the Reunification Day on April 30, Independence Day on September 2, and the New Year.
The pyrotechnic displays were expected to help diversify the city’s tourism products and attract more visitors to the city in 2018.
