Eximbank to hold 11 per cent stake in Air Mekong

Vietnam Export and Import Joint Stock Commercial Bank (Eximbank) on June 6 signed an agreement with Air Mekong airline to contribute 11 per cent to its chartered capital so as to raise the basic amount to VND600 billion.

The bank has pledged to help Air Mekong increase its aircraft fleet by either renting or buying aircraft, to eventually raise the number of aircraft to about 10 in the future.

Eximbank will also support the development of infrastructure, trade and technical services of Air Mekong at various airports. The two parties will cooperate to develop associate services such as ticketing and building of a brand name.

Air Mekong, a private carrier, has been operating for nearly two years in Vietnam to nine destinations within the country.
