efore coming to Vietnam, I had
read that Nha Trang can be
very dangerous, with warnings
about using taxis late at night
and being very careful. Well I have to
say, I could not have found it more dif-
ferent. Of course, as with any resort
town, you need to be a smart traveller,
but Nha Trang is very safe. I don’t have
any trouble using taxis or walking the
streets at night.
Alighting the plane and stepping
into Nha Trang - or the exotic Bali of
Vietnam, as I call it - I was prepared to
see a lot of tourists sunbathing on the
beach. But again, I was surprised. The
beach was empty when we got there.
I wondered, if it was too early for the
tourist season.
