The 2014 Diamond Sponsor was
BRG-SeABank, which was the Gold
Sponsor last year. Vingroup was the
Platinum Sponsor, while the Gold Spon-
sor was the Singaporean education
group KinderWorld.
In total, more than VND7.6 billion
($360,000) has been raised over the
eight tournaments. Over the last seven
years more than 10,000 scholarships
have been presented to poor but excel-
lent students and many training and
education establishments have been
upgraded in 38 cities and provinces
nationwide. The total sum used for
these activities stands at VND6.4 billion
($304,800).
Former Minister of Planning and Investment, Vo Hong Phuc (middle),
tees off to start this year’s tournament. Phuc is also honourable chairman
of Swing for the Kids and has actively supported the tournament since its
inception.
Although it rained heavily in the morning, with streets in downtown
Hanoi looking like small rivers, the weather was perfect during the tour-
nament, in which more than 140 golfers competed for a noble cause.
Nguyen Chi Dung (third from left), member of the Central Committee of
the Communist Party of Vietnam and Deputy Minister of Planning and
Investment, expressed his belief that the sponsors and golfers’ support
would inspire countless students to overcome their everyday difficulties
to make their dreams become a reality.
