sisted of three buildings. During the
Vietnam War most of the temple was

worship has been built on the site.
Ghenh Rang Tourist
Site
Two kilometres southeast of Quy
Nhon city, Ghenh Rang is a national
tourist spot. At the foot of Ghenh Rang
on Hoang Hau Beach people can see a
variety of round stones like giant eggs,
created by wave erosion. For this rea-
son, Hoang Hau Beach is also known
as Egg Beach. From the hillside, tour-
ists can see the entire eastern part of
Quy Nhon city and further, to Phuong
Mai peninsula. Beside the hillside is the
tomb of Han Mac Tu – a famous Viet-
namese poet.
Ham Ho
A 3km section of river flows
through old forest with many large
stones in a variety of shapes at Ham Ho
in Tay Phu, about 55km from Quy Nhon
city. Ham Ho is famous for its variety of
fish, especially during the flood season.
Legend has it that every year the Water
King holds an examination for the fish
in Ham Ho and the fish that pass turn
into dragons. Nearby, tourists can see
Thanh Mountain, its sheer side covered
with green moss and ancient roots.
On the left of the cliff is a beach of
stones. The next river section is home
to a stone resembling a crocodile lying
in the river, which causes white foam
to form.
Quang Trung Museum
Nguyen Hue was one of three
brothers who led the rebellion of
peasants known as the Tay Son up-
rising in the 18th century. He then
proclaimed Quang Trung as emperor.
Quang Trung Museum was built in his
native village, Kien My, 40km west of
Quy Nhon city. Opened in 1978, it is
a major drawcard for researchers and
tourists. The exhibition house in the
museum features more than 11,000
documents and objects dating back to
the reign of Quang Trung.
Phung Mountain
This mountain stands in Tuy Phuoc
district. It is known for its odd land-
scapes and stones. Knocking on the
stones makes a sound like a gong or a
drum. Thousands of years ago the area
was covered in sea water and Phung
Mountain was an island. In the mid-
dle of the 20th century an anchor was
found here. Phung Mountain is home to
many rocks in various shapes, each with
a link to an interesting story that tourists
will not want to miss.
Quaint fishing villages abound in the surrounding area
