surroundings outline how the
area is expected to become one
of the hubs of the central coast-
al region by 2025. This entails efforts
in industry, seaports and tourism. At
a recently held planning conference,
the Chairman of the Binh Dinh People’s
Committee, Le Huu Loc, told delegates
he hopes that Quy Nhon will emerge as
a national centre for the marine econo-
my by 2035.
“By 2050 the city will play an im-
portant role in the urban system of
Vietnam and Southeast Asia, attract
more investment, and enhance interna-
tional cooperation in other fields such
as health, education, environment,
tourism, and high quality human re-
sources,” he said.
