What are Binh Dinh’s strategies for
tourism development?
Binh Dinh has been endowed gen-
erously by nature, with a beautiful long
coastline, mountains, rivers, caves and
much more. It has also inherited from
the past, with highly-valued heritages
such as Champa architectural vestiges,
traditional martial arts, folk singing,
and traditional festivals. Today we have
relatively comprehensive infrastructure
in terms of seaports and airport.
However, as you can see, tourism
development in the province is not
proportionate to the advantages and
potential. There is a shortage of major
projects and entertainment centres that
could attract tourists.
In both the short and long terms
we aim to make tourism a key industry
in Binh Dinh province.
Binh Dinh has attracted some major
projects, but how will it carry these
out quickly?
In the provincial plan, major pro-
jects are concentrated in Cat Tien, Vinh
Hoi, Tan Thanh, and Ghenh Rang. The
rate of progress, however, is not as
good as expected. The economic hard-
ship is one reason for this and we are
doing our best to share the burden with
investors. Furthermore, land clearance
and poor transport infrastructure, in-
cluding incomplete coastal roads, are
slowing down progress.
But Binh Dinh province is commit-
ted to making efforts to address these
matters and creating the best condi-
tions for investors.
What are the greatest needs right now?
In general, we need many things,
such as capital to develop infrastructure
and preserve and upgrade tourist spots
such as the Quang Trung Museum and
Hoang De Rampart. What we need most
at the moment is a motivating project
that resounds enough to create Binh
Dinh’s brand name.
Has Binh Dinh had what it needs so far?
Vingroup has constructed the huge
Hai Giang Tourist Complex, covering
over 600ha and with total capital in-
vestment of VND3,500 billion. There
will be four main functional areas: an
18-hole golf course, villas, cultural
buildings, hotels and much more.
A 1.5km cable car from Mui Tan
Island to Phuong Mai Peninsula is also
set to open, alongside a 300-room, five-
star resort and an entertainment cen-
tre. We hope this project will lift Binh
Dinh in the eyes of tourists.
Despite benefiting from a
host of natural advantages to
develop high quality tourism,
Binh Dinh still needs more
projects.
