S
ituated ideally on Mai Hac De,
one of the most bustling shop-
ping streets in Hanoi, S-Villa is an
old French style property designed
elegantly as a restaurant, cafe, gallery,
fashion showroom and studio all in one.
This new hideaway is a place to
escape the traffic jams and smoke of
the capital’s streets. S-Villa is an oasis
where you can shop for fashionable
clothes made using traditional pure ma-
terials like silk, velvet or cotton made by
designer Hoang Ngan. Those who visit
may sip a cup of Saigon iced coffee or
a glass of cool cocktail while enjoying
beautiful pictures captured by famous
photographers before savouring French
specialties in the restaurant.
A small but well curated menu of-
fers 25 dishes, including New Zealand
lamb, Australian beef and Norwegian
salmon. All are amazingly delicious
thanks to the skillful in-house chefs
who are overseen by a French chef who
has many years of experience at the
Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi.
At the restaurant, you should start
your lunch or dinner with a Nicoise sal-
ad – a perfect mix of tuna, green beans,
olives and potatoes with olive oil and
lemon (VND90,000 for two to share).
For main, don’t miss the grilled rack of
Australian lamb with grilled eggplant,
cheese, polenta and rosemary sauce.
Alternatively, try the grilled tenderloin
Australian steak with French fries and
salad (VND290,000). Fish lovers will
enjoy the salmon steak with mashed
potatoes with spring onion and lemon
butter sauce (VND250,000).
The airy villa is well decorated and
suitable for various types of groups
from families to corporate gatherings.
There are private rooms which can ac-
commodate up to 32 people. This is
also a romantic rendezvous for couples.
