manages everything from cleaning to
parking areas and restaurants.
The company has actively cooper-
ated with Uong Bi City agencies, the
provincial Buddha Association, Yen Tu
Relic management board and others.
Just after Yen Tu was recognised as
a national relic site by the government in
late 2012, Tunglamtourist gained approv-
al from the provincial management board
to carry out a project promoting Yen Tu’s
traditional culture through an ‘enlighten-
ment road’ linking the historical and spir-
itual values of Yen Tu mountain.
A 15 metres high, the 138 tonne
statue of King Tran Nhan Tong stands in
An Ky Sinh Square on Yen Tu Mountain,
about 1,000m above sea level. It was
placed there on the 705th anniversary
of the king’s death of King.
A range of investment projects are
also in the pipeline. For instance, the
existing road from National Highway 18
to Yen Tu mountain is being expanded
in parallel with building a bus station in
Thuong Yen Cong commune’s centre
and streamlining the service facilities
in the area.
This on-going investment is ex-
pected to bring Yen Tu a new charming
face. Efforts are also underway to con-
nect Yen Tu to Halong Bay.
Qunimex, through Tunglamtourist,
is ramping up investment into both in-
frastructure and tourism offerings to
raise Yen Tu’s appeal. The company will
strive to preserve the site’s primitive
beauty as well as its cultural and histori-
cal value. The One Journey, Two Herit-
ages initiative could help Yen Tu attract
4-5 million visitors per year in the not
too distant future.
