What strategies do you plan for Binh Dinh Tourism in the
coming years?
Like other central coast provinces, Binh Dinh has a long
coastal line with white sandy beaches, a rich cultural tradition,
Champa relics, traditional folk songs, martial arts and festivals,
as well as good infrastructure, including ports and airports.
However, Binh Dinh tourism has not made the most of its advan-
tages. We have not got considerable tourism projects and sig-
nificant entertainment and amusement spots to attract tourists.
Our short and long term targets are to develop tourism as a
key economic industry. To reach that target, Binh Dinh has been
working on its infrastructure. We are also calling for potential
investors to promote tourism.
Binh Dinh has already attracted some large-scale tourism
investment. How did you help make that happen?
In our master plan, such destinations as Cat Tien, Vinh Hoi,
Tan Thanh and Ghenh Rang are targets for drawing the invest-
ment of some big projects, however, we have faced many obsta-
cles. The key barrier has been and remains the economic crisis.
Alongside this, we have encountered other obstacles in terms
of land clearance and tourism infrastructure, most notably, the
coastal road is yet to be upgraded.
However, Binh Dinh is committed to trying
our utmost to upgrade the infrastructure system.
The coastal road will be improved in the near
future and the provincial People’s Committee
is fully focussed on clearing project ground
and handing it over to investors in order to
speed up projects.
