s not a marketing gimmick - long ago it was proven that Pilsner Urquell
is beneficial to human health. Doctors confirm that drinking Pilsner not
only reduces stress, but also promotes blood circulation, reduces the risk
of heart disease, helps in eliminating digestive problems and beneficially
affects kidney function.
Some experts even speak of the Pilsen Paradox - while the consumption
of other types of beer at least slightly increases blood pressure, this is not
the case with Pilsner Urquell. This remarkable phenomenon was confirmed
by extensive research on the health status of Pilsen employees. It was found
that employees of the company who drink Pilsner Urquell regularly have sig-
nificantly better results on the ECG compared with those who do not. They
also have fewer heart problems and cases of coronary heart disease, angina
and myocardial infarction.
This is explained by the fact that Pilsner Urquell - unlike all the other
beers - contains alkaline substances, while other beers have an acidic base.
The beer also contains essential vitamins for healthy skin and hair
growth. It acts against the formation of gall and kidney stones, as well as
reducing the risk of Alzheimer’s disease. It also supports the development of
bones and prevents osteoporosis, affects blood clotting, improves vision and
limits the formation of malignant tumors.
The beer is an extremely clean drink as harmful substances are extracted
in the production process. The former German President Richard von Weisze-
cker once said: “We could be happy if the air was as clean as beer.”
Famed Czech physician and scientist Dr. Francis Plzák carried out re-
search in 1928 in the laboratories of The Institute of Organic Chemistry,
Charles University in Prague, on the chemical make-up of Pilsner Urquell. He
found: “Microscopic findings prove infallibly impeccable cleanliness of pro-
duction .... It is therefore beer brewery in Pilsen creating a unique nutritious
and hygienic drink with incomparable sweet and refreshing briskness. All of
these factors ensure the constant excellent quality and distinctive, pleasant
taste and allow its use for medical purposes, which must rely on impeccable
quality as with any other medication or dietetics.”
Meanwhile, Dr Josef Pelnář Head of the Department of Internal Medicine
of Charles University, wrote: “... we consider Urquell a cure for hyperaciditě
and anorexia and all convalescent dyspepsia. Its positive impacts on the
digestive system sometimes surpass light red wines, which are considered
sovereign. This beer is instructed to be used for people with diseases of the
stomach and intestines, in small portions and even bleeding gastric ulcer, and
diarrhoea, both of which are evidence of its easy digestibility and its benefits.”
