Tuncay Bockin has
been appointed as area
general manager for Ha-
noi which includes the
InterContinental Hanoi
Westlake, the InterCon-
tinental Hanoi Lanmark
72 and Crowne Plaza
West Hanoi Hotel &
Residences. The Turk-
ish-American
brings
with him over 30 years
of hospitality experi-
ence with international
brands including Mar-
riott and Conrad. Most
recently he worked as
general manager of the
Crowne Plaza and Holi-
day Inn Manila Galleria,
in the Philippines.

The Sofitel Plaza Hanoi
has welcomed its new direc-
tor of food & beverage, Max
Huber. In his mid 40s, this
Swiss director has spent 26
years in the hospitality indus-
try. Huber started his career as
a professional cook at a very
young age. In his new role,
Huber will be responsible for
overseeing all F&B efforts for
Sofitel Plaza Hanoi, a property
of 273 rooms and 56 serviced
apartments with breathtaking
views of the nearby lakes and
the Red River.
