PREVIEW
The Montgomerie
Links Masters
The Montgomerie Links
Vietnam is very pleased to
announce that it will be hold-
ing its own versions of big-
gest tournaments in world
golf “THE MAJORS” in 2013.
The four tournaments
will be played each Saturday
that the actual Major is be-
ing played around the world
with the first event “The
Montgomerie Links Masters”
to be played on April 13,
2013 at Montgomerie Links
Vietnam. For the first time,
the result will be determined
on Best Gross, this tourna-
ment is an open opportunity
to all members and guest
to compete and become
The Master Champion. The
Champion will be awarded
with the converted green
jacket and trophy as The US
Master format.
The Hanoi Soundwalk
is a chance to see the his-
tory of the city through
sound. Experience the
hidden sounds of the en-
vironment around you by
going on a soundwalk.
Simply bring along your
smartphone (Android or
Apple iOS), put on your
headphones, and join in
the walk. You might hear
people of times past talking
of the place in which you’re
standing; you might hear a
rickshaw creaking past or
a train passing or perhaps
a broadcast from the radio
evoking a bygone age.
However, if you’re in
the driving seat, you can
choose which parts of the
city to linger in. This event
is part of the Locative Au-
dio project which is taking
place in 11 cities around
the world at the same time.
To get an idea what the
Hanoi Soundwalk will be
like, come along to Manzi
Art Space, 14 Phan Huy Ich,
Hanoi, on the April 9. Walk:

From one city to
another
Vincent
Bertholon
primarily divides his life
between France and Vi-
etnam, but wherever he
goes, he takes his cam-
era, sketch books, char-
coal, ink and watercolors
to capture the poetry of
everyday scenes. Togeth-
er with Clement Musil,
researcher on urban
development,
Vincent
Bertholon came up with
the idea of publishing a
book about Hanoi and
its fascinating, changing
pace. As a result, Hanoi,
From One City to An-
other, was published in
2010. He will be exhibit-
ing work from the project
at an exhibition in Hanoi.

A photography exhibi-
tion titled The Desiring Gar-
den is now showing at Man-
zi art space, with a series
of works by Jamie Maxtone-
Graham, an American pho-
tographer based in Hanoi.
The images were produced
within Hanoi and are a re-
cord of a place that exists
between the projected and
the perceived. They prey on
the Western perception of
the exotic, with a Rousseau-
like play on an environment.
Jamie Maxtone-Graham
has a professional back-
ground of more than 20 years
in commercial and narrative
cinematography in New York
and Los Angeles. He became
a Fulbright Fellow in 2007
when he moved to Hanoi.
His still photography
has been exhibited in Lon-
don, the Netherlands, Bang-
kok, France and Hanoi and
has been published online
and in print.
Until April 30, 2013, @
Manzi Art Space, 14 Phan
Huy Ich, Hanoi.
