A series of events will
take place from April 9 to
mark the start of the Year of
France in Vietnam on the oc-
casion of the 40th anniver-
sary of diplomatic relations
between the two countries.
Around 100 culture,
economic, science and edu-
cation events take place until
the end of 2013. The Viet
Nam-France Business Forum
is scheduled to be held in Ho
Chi Minh City from April 7
to 9, with delegations from
over 130 French companies
and groups.
The French Ambassador
to Vietnam, Jean Noel Poiri-
er, said that the bilateral ties
are of trust and friendship.

Architectural
solutions
A competition to find
solutions to improve urban
spaces has been announced
by the Danish Cultural De-
velopment Exchange Fund.
Participants will provide ar-
chitectural solutions includ-
ing re-building and adding
or removing constructions
with the aim of creating bet-
ter public spaces. “We hope
to find talented architects
and encourage innovative
solutions to improve pub-
lic spaces in Vietnam,” said
John Nielsen, Denmark Am-
bassador to Vietnam. Dead-
line for submissions: July 31,
2013. Prize: A week in Den-
mark and VND10 million.
