This is a follow-up activity of the beauty contest 2005 held for young women living with HIV or with disabilities by the Hanoi Youth with Disability Association, in co-operation with the Centre for Supporting Community Development Initiatives (SCDI), the Sustainable Health Development Centre (VietHealth) and the Centre for Creative Initiatives in Health and Population (CCIHP).

According to the organising board, with the slogan “for an integrated society without barriers and for the rights of people with disabilities,” the programme aims to highlight the inner beauty and non-discrimination against people with disabilities.

“The Crescent’s Beauty 2013” encourages all young women with disabilities with ages ranging from 18-30 in Vietnam to participate in.

It was launched from October last year and has attracted more than 70 contestants nationwide from different ethnics to join in.

The final round will be held from April 15-17. The top 10 will compete for the crown in the night of April 18.
