Holidaymakers could reap the rewards of a sluggish property market with developers offering villas in a swathe of new projects at bargain prices.

More tourists will be able to find their place in the sun

Last week the Flamingo Dai Lai Company kicked-off sales of its Flamingo Villas 3 in which starting prices for a villa in a resort it is building in Vinh Phuc province come in at as low as VND5 billion ($240,000).

According to Nguyen Thi Hanh, general director of Flamingo Dai Lai, the company was ignoring the country’s property slowdown and pushing ahead with the launch of Flamingo Villa 3. “Even in a slow market there will be selected products which are attractive enough to lure customers. Investors with prestige and enough capacity will see good business,” Hanh said.

Hanh said the Flamingo Villa 3 programme would offer buyers a preferential payment scheme. Buyers will pay for their purchase within five years while the villas would be completed one year after the purchase contract was signed.

The 123-hectare Flamingo Dai Lai  project is only one hour drive from Hanoi centre and 20 minutes from the capital’s Noi Bai International Airport. It will have 300 villas in total and comprises health care services, a kindergarten, a supermarket, a country market and professional security.

Earlier, Flamingo Dai Lai had set up a special “co-investment and co-benefit sharing” sales programme for this project. Accordingly, for every investment of VND1 billion ($48,000) an investor poured into developing a villa in cooperation with the company, he would receive a 23 per cent interest per year in the first year. In the second year, the investor would receive an interest rate 8 per cent more than banks’ 12-month term interest rate.

In another project, Gia Tue Investment Joint Stock Company is offering villas at the Dalat Monte Han Grand resort with prices starting from VND3.9 billion ($188,000). The project’s investor said customers at the 190ha site in Da Lat would be offered regular benefits by directly leasing villas to foreign and domestic tourists or coordinating with the managing company to lease the villas.

There will be 195 villas ranging from 370 to 1,300 square metres in Dalat Monte Han’s Grand resort. When the site is finished, there will also be five clubs and service centres, two five-star hotels and a heliport.
