AccorHotels, the leading operator of international hotels in Vietnam and Asia Pacific, announced the opening of Mercure Phu Quoc Resort & Villas, the group’s second hotel on the island of Phu Quoc.

The newly refurbished resort offers both privacy and accessibility on Vietnam’s increasingly sought-after island destination: it sits on Truong beach and is just five minutes from Phu Quoc International Airport and 7 kilometres from the town of Duong Dong.

The beachside resort offers travellers a convenient, secluded escape to Vietnam’s “rising star” destination. “As the third Mercure in Vietnam, the resort strengthens AccorHotels’ commitment in the country to growing the Mercure brand, which combines international service standards with local charm,” said Patrick Basset, chief operating officer for AccorHotels Thailand, Vietnam, South Korea, Japan, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and the Philippines.

Designed in contemporary Vietnamese style, the 72 villas, starting at $106, feature private terraces, LED TVs with satellite channels, coffee and tea making facilities and a minibar. The luxurious beach front Executive Pool Villas are built with private swimming pools with underwater lounge chairs, bathrooms with Jacuzzi tubs and separate living rooms.

“At Mercure Phu Quoc Resort & Villas, guests can explore the island offerings and experience the area’s authentic local culture,” said Remi Faubel, the resort’s general manager. “Phu Quoc is becoming favoured for its stunning beaches and untouched natural environment, and our staff are committed to helping guests experience the best of the island.”
