10 more medals for Vietnamese team

Three martial artists, Nguyen Thi Bich, Phan Van Hau and Nguyen Van Tuan, won silver medals in their final matches of the wushu sanshou competition at the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou, China.

7 other bronzes went to Nguyen Minh Thong and Vuong Dinh Khanh in wushu, Ly The Vinh and Duong Anh Vu in billards and Vu Thi Hau, Duong Thanh Tam, and Nguyen Trong Cuong in taekwondo.

In other events, top badminton player, Nguyen Tien Minh, defeated his Indian opponent 2-0 and tennis players, Do Minh Quan and Nguyen Hoang Thien, thrashed their Nepalese and Omani rivals to enter the second round.

Ealier, the Vietnamese sepak takraw team dominated in 3 sets against the Japanese team in the women’s event. This win books a ticket to the semi finals if it can claim a win in the next match against Indonesia.

The Chinese still top the rankings with 94 golds, 39 silvers, and 35 bronzes followed by the Republic of Korea with 29 golds, 22 silvers, and 30 bronzes and Japan with 17 golds, 39 silvers, and 35 bronzes.

After 5 days of competition, the Vietnamese team has won 7 silver and 10 bronze medals ranking 14/45 in the medal tally.
