|Vietrade and Amazon leaders kicked off the co-operation programme|
Through the co-operation, VIETRADE and Amazon Global Selling are aligned on the following joint efforts: supporting enterprises in Vietnam, especially SMEs, to reach out to Amazon.com; building the branding of Vietnam enterprises on Amazon.com, and organising training programmes targeting Vietnam business about ecommerce export and to teach them how to start selling on Amazon.com.
In 2019, VIETRADE and Amazon Global Selling plan to organise programmes to support Vietnam SMEs to increase their export capabilities through selling products on Amazon.com. This engagement will include connecting with qualified SMEs, providing information about export opportunities, and guiding them to start selling on Amazon’s international marketplaces. SMEs will also receive support to improve their products, enhance packaging, complete export procedures, and more.
Through these programmes, products from Vietnamese SMEs will have the opportunity to reach out to millions of Amazon global customers, thus opening huge export opportunities, especially for products such as handmade, textile, leather, shoes, and consumer products.

We believe today’s announcement will further facilitate Vietnamese businesses to expand global business and build international brands.”
Amazon Global Selling helps businesses around the world to launch a global business no matter where they are physically established, reaching Amazon customers around the world. Through Amazon Global Selling, sellers all around the globe can directly reach Amazon’s 300+ million active customer accounts, including more than 100 million Prime customers in overseas Amazon marketplaces and millions of institutional buyers in the US, Europe, and Japan.
In 2018, Vietnam's total trade turnover was estimated to reach $480.17 billion, up 12.2 per cent on-year, according to the General Department of Vietnam Customs. However, Vietnamese export enterprises, especially SMEs, are facing many challenges in terms of information, market insight, competitiveness, and customer acquisition.
Based on reports from the government agencies of Vietnam, in 2018, there were more than 700,000 enterprises in Vietnam, of which SMEs take up approximately 98 per cent. SMEs are playing an increasingly important role in the Vietnamese economy and make positive contributions to Vietnamese exports.
Last September, Amazon Global Selling Southeast Asia announced upgrading efforts to support Vietnamese sellers, including the launch of the Global Selling website in Vietnamese and the official Vietnamese Facebook page to enable more Vietnamese sellers to easily access information, materials, and support to start selling on Amazon.
