Vietnam entered the finals of the ASEAN Federation Football (AFF) Suzuki Cup 2018 after defeating the Philippines (2-1) in the second game of the semi-finals, which took place at Hanoi’s My Dinh Stadium on December 6.
The match tickets are sold via the websites vebongdaonline.vn and vebongdaonline.com.vn in four timeslots, including 10 AM, 4 PM, and 10 PM on Monday (December 10), and 10 AM on Tuesday (December 11).
Tickets prices are VND200,000 ($8.69), VND350,000 ($15.21), VND500,000 ($21.74), and VND600,000 ($20.09).
Each individual can only buy a maximum of two tickets for the same price. In addition, fans will need to pay by card and provide a phone number, an email address, and an ID card number when buying tickets online.
Fans can receive the tickets via Vietnam Post at the address they register or collect their tickets directly at the VFF headquarters.
As published on the VFF’s website, at the first round of sales 2,500 tickets were sold in just 16 minutes.
As soon as the portal opened at 10 AM, the VFF system received more than 180,000 hits. In the next minutes, the system received more than 150-160,000 visitors, which is 72 times the number of tickets available for sale.
By 11 AM on December 10, the VFF website had 10.8 million visits, five times more than for the semi-finals against the Philippines.
Due to the large volume of buyers accessing the website at the same time, the system became overloaded.
