|Mekong Rustic Can Tho is working with the locals to develop sustainable tourism activities|
More particularly, this year’s TripAdvisor certificate stands for both quality accommodations and tour activities that Mekong Rustic Can Tho has been delivering.
Mekong Rustic Can Tho was chosen by many international tourists, especially by European, American, Australian, and Northeast Asian visitors, as their vacation rental. Consecutively, in 2018 and 2019, the resort has received this Certifictae of Excellence from TripAdvisor thanks to good customer reviews. Currently, Mekong Rustic Can Tho is rated 4.5/5 on TripAdvisor for its location, cleanliness, service, and value.
Situated along the coastline of the Mekong River within Can Tho, just about three kilometres from Phong Dien floating market and nine kilometres from Cai Rang floating market, Mekong Rustic Can Tho is surrounded by the lush orchards of Vam Xang.
The place is accessible by car, coach, and cruise boats along the Can Tho River. All the materials (such as brick, recycled wood, and wooden products) used for each and every 12 private bungalows are harmonised to create a rural yet relaxing atmosphere towards the idea of an eco-property surrounded by tropical fruit gardens.
Collaborating with the locals of Phong Dien town to develop community-based tourism, Mekong Rustic Can Tho now offers homestay services in both middle-range homestays at local households or high-class bungalows in the middle of fruit orchards.
Being a community-based project founded by Huong Duong Travel Management Company represented by director Nguyen Ngoc Bich since December 2014, Mekong Rustic offers training sessions for local people to kit them out with tour-guide, product and services knowledge, homestay, on-board service, and food and beverage skills to bring tourists the most authentic and professional experiences of daily life on the Mekong.
Mekong Rustic is strongly committed to developing tourism activities that have the least impact on the environment and local culture. The resort trains and co-operates with the local people to create sustainable and responsible tourism activities in the area of Tan Phong, Cai Be, Tien Giang, and Phong Dien, Can Tho.
According to Bich, the resort aims to create a responsible tourism community led by local people. By involving local people, it helps to improve their living standards, not only benefiting individuals but all households participating in the project, as well as supporting the local community.
"Tourists may come to Mekong Rustic to offer a helping hand in developing sustainable and responsible tourism, preserving the Mekong’s traditional handicraft villages and cultural values," Bich said.
