The competition, open across disciplines with a focus on IT, Computer Science, Engineering, and Business, aims to create opportunities for young startups to show their intelligence, aspirations, and passion using Predix—GE’s operating platform.
Groups of three or four students, with at least one member from each of the three following disciplines: Information Technology, Engineering, Business, need to register at http://www.ge.com/asean/contest/registration and submit a viable startup proposal on a digital technology or marketable app using the Predix platform.
All teams who sign up by August 27, 2017 will qualify and be invited to a special one-day session of Predix training and granted a certificate of participation. The national team that wins the country finale will get an all-expenses paid trip to the regional finals in Singapore, as well as a potential internship offering or interview sessions for GE leadership programmes. The winning team at the grand finals will be named GE ASEAN Digital Startup Champion and offered a guaranteed internship or a final-round interview for GE leadership programmes.

Talented young minds are a force to reckon with in this arena. This is the reason why GE organised this competition for ambitious, creative, and brilliant startups to challenge and perfect themselves with support from Predix—our means of transformation into a leading digital industrial company.”
Taking human resources development as a core value, GE has been striving to start initiatives to facilitate talent, especially among university students. These campaigns and competitions have received a lot of attention from university students around the globe, including Vietnam.
