The project is expected to encourage the disadvantaged to thrive for a better life
Each donated house measures 32 square metres in total area and is built from BlueScope Zacs’ premium alloy-coated, easily installed steel that adheres to Vietnamese loading standards TCVN 2327 and is suitable for the wind speed of each locality, offering home owners a safe shelter for the rainy and stormy season.
Typically, BlueScope Zacs’ Australian technology enables the installation to be completed within a few days, bringing happiness of a new house to the poor on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2019.
“Doing what we deem the right thing and what is best for businesses and the community has been our business philosophy since our establishment. In the community programme ‘Affectionate Pieces,’ we apply our Australian-standard products and technologies to build steady and neatly-built houses for the poor so that they can settle down,” Vo Minh Nhut, country president, NS BlueScope Vietnam.
“The programme is a shared effort by BlueScope Zacs and authorised dealers to help alleviate local residents’ difficulties, thereby encouraging them to thrive for a better life. We hope our efforts will inspire more businesses, organisations, and kind-hearted people to participate in the programme and create more beautiful and affectionate pieces,” he added.
Danh Uot, a resident of Vinh Loi ward, Rach Gia city who was one of the 50 very lucky locals to be donated a Zacs house, shared with tearful eyes, “My family has been struggling with poverty for as long as I can remember. Never have we dreamt of having our own house to shelter us from the rain or the winter cold. We are sincerely grateful for BlueScope Zacs and their partners.”
