Nguyen Van Tram, the provincial People’s Committee chairman, said the six projects would give the province the highest solar energy capacity in the country.
The plan envisages an installed capacity of 2,791MWp by 2020 and 4,775MWp by 2030 and earmarking 5,000-6,000ha of land for the solar farms, mostly in Lộc Ninh District.
The head of the province’s Department of Industry and Trade, Nguyen Anh Hoang, said the People’s Committee has identified investors for all the farms.
It is expected that farms with a total capacity of around 600MWp will operate commercially and be connected to the national grid by next June.
The province has 2,400-2,500 hours of sunshine annually, one of the three highest in the country.
