The premium exterior paint will help optimally protect the exterior surface of the lighthouse against the extreme weather conditions of Central Vietnam. This is the latest Let’s Colour project of AkzoNobel aiming to preserve iconic architectural works all over the world.

As one of the five oldest lighthouses in Vietnam, this more-than-100-year-old lighthouse is located at Dai Lanh Cape (also known as Mui Dien), Dong Hoa district of Phu Yen province. Dai Lanh lighthouse is not only a meaningful historical and cultural monument, an important position in marine traffic, but is also Vietnam’s easternmost point – the first place to see the sunrise every day.

Being surrounded by stunning mountainous scenery, Dai Lanh lighthouse has been a special attraction for travellers. Located in Central Vietnam, Dai Lanh lighthouse must struggle against the harshest weather in Vietnam with the most hours of sunshine and the highest amount of rainfall in the country. The repainting project with Dulux Weathershield of AkzoNobel was implemented from 2017.

“Leveraging our power from high-quality sustainable products and the colour platform to protect the beauty of famous architectural works around the world is one of our strongest desire and ambition. In Vietnam, we are honoured to contribute to the preservation of one of the most beautiful symbolic pieces of architecture - Dai Lanh lighthouse, a historical, cultural, and tourism symbol. We believe that our premium exterior paint – Dulux Weathershield – will help protect the lighthouse against the harsh weather to maintain its beauty,” said Pamela Phua, general director of AkzoNobel Paints Vietnam.

Repainting Dai Lanh lighthouse is the latest addition to AkzoNobel’s initiative to to protect famous architecture in each nation where it operates. The Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Building and the Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts Museum were also recoated by AkzoNobel. These architectural works are highly appreciated for their aesthetics.
