What bilateral and multilateral trade agreements mean to the Vietnamese investment scene?

On September 25, 2015, StoxPlus, an associate of Nikkei Inc. and Quick Corp. (Japan), will be organising a roundtable talk on the implications of free trade agreements, the regional comprehensive economic partnership, and Trans-Pacific Partnership on capital inflows to Vietnam.

Being one of the most open economies in the world, Vietnam is attracting large foreign capital from diverse international players. Meanwhile, the country has signed a plethora of bilateral and multilateral Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) as well as the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (RCEP) strengthening links to many countries and regions. The negotiation process of important agreements such as the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) is nearing completion.

What impacts will these agreements have on the Vietnamese economy? And what should be prepared to proactively take advantage of the new opportunities and to mitigate negative impacts and manage risks arising from the implementation of these agreements?

These issues will be discussed at the roundtable talk with the participation of nearly 100 negotiators, regulators, chambers of commerce representatives, as well as trade and investment promotion agencies. In addition, numerous C-level executives from the domestic and international business communities have expressed interest in participating, from different fields, including banking, financial services, manufacturing, trading, and services.

Information is a critical enabler in facilitating cross-border trade, investment, and capital flows. StoxPlus, on this occasion, will introduce their business information services, designated as Biinform, which offers company reports, industrial reports, and trade connection services that can be accessed at www.Biinform.com. The platform has been developed from an aggregated source of more than 800,000 businesses registered in Vietnam

“The mission of Biinform is to facilitate trade, investment and capital flows between Vietnam and the world. Biinform helps to inform businesses, enabling them to make decisions with confidence and in an informed manner through the provision of company information, industrial reports and on-demand information. Biinform helps businesses to assess credit-worthiness, evaluate suppliers, assess competitors, understand market dynamics, develop strategies and plans, manage risk, and check financial healthiness”, said Nguyen Quang Thuan, chairman and CEO of StoxPlus.

Earlier in July, StoxPlus has launched their new investor platform, FiinPro®, the first-ever comprehensive financial database and analytic tool in Vietnam, jointly developed with Japanese Quick Corp.
