VN expects to welcome Russian PM

PM Nguyen Tan Dung said he expects to welcome PM D. Medvedev to Viet Nam during the latter’s upcoming official visit while meeting with newly-accredited Russian Ambassador Vnukov Constantin Vasilievich.

The visit would provide an opportunity for the two countries to discuss major orientations to deepen the bilateral relationship in an effective and practical manner.

Expressing his pleasure at the fine developments of the Viet Nam-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership, PM Dung hopes that the Russian diplomat would coordinate closely with the Vietnamese side to boost the bilateral cooperation, particularly in such fields like economy, trade, investment, energy and military technology.

The Government chief also urged the two countries to quickly finalize the free trade agreement negotiations between Viet Nam and the Customs Union of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan.

Mr. Vasilievich said that both sides have actively approached a rich agenda for the upcoming visit of PM Medvedev.

The diplomat also stated that Viet Nam is the first country in Southeast Asia that Russia opened a direct air route, reflecting the growing ties between the two sides.

Russia stands ready to conduct cooperation with Viet Nam in all areas, he reiterated, adding that Russia pledges to be a reliable partner of Viet Nam.
