|The largest-ever investment promotion conference will take place in Vinh Long this month|
The event will feature the strong presence of more than 750 delegates including government leaders, and representatives of diverse management agencies, sectors, international organisations, leaders of several localities, domestic and foreign investors.
Notably, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc will attend the event and deliver keynote speech.
According to Vinh Long People’s Committee Standing Deputy Chairman Le Quang Trung, the conference aims to increase exposure of the province’s potential, investment opportunities, and support policies to attract investors with a view to maximising local potential and advantages.
The event also serves as a platform to connect investors and international organisations with local leaders and relevant management agencies, as well as present priority investment fields and projects to investors.
“Through the event, Vinh Long expects to make the most of the opportunity to draw capable investors who have the capacity to translate the province’s potential into actual benefits, from there pushing up social and economic development and ensuring successful implementation of the targets set in the 10th provincial Party Committee Resolution, 2015-2020 tenure,” said Trung.

Truong Dang Vinh Phuc, director of Vinh Long Department of Planning and Investment unveiled that at the conference, the province will grant investment proposals to seven investment projects valued at nearly VND2.9 trillion ($131.8 million) in total registered capital, provide investment certificates to eight other projects capitalized more than VND2.3 trillion ($104.5 million) and sign memoranda of understanding for 10 projects worth around VND7.23 trillion ($328.9 million).
In addition, at the event four provinces of Vinh Long, Ben Tre, Tra Vinh and Tien Giang will sign a deal to promote the eastern coastal sub-region cooperation which will cover cooperation in agri-product consumption, investment promotion, infrastructure and human resources development, and environmental resources management sharing.
On the occasion, six commercial banks will sign credit funding contracts with 12 businesses for the implementation of several large-scale projects to propel provincial development.
Diverse activities will take place on the sidelines of the conference, including a trade fair to present achievements the province has scored in agriculture, industry and trade with about 900-1,000 booths, a ceremony where Binh Minh town will be praised for having fulfilled the tasks on building new countryside model and receive a recognition decision and the launching ceremony of Vinh Long General Hospital.
