The military-run Viettel Post Joint Stock Corporation is optimistic about growth in recent years in its forecast for continued growth in the coming period.

Viettel Post is expanding its services in an effective manner

The corporation announced that it had set a revenue target of about VND1.4-1.5 trillion ($66.66 - $71.42 million) for 2014, before reaching revenue of VND2 billion ($95.23 million) by 2015. This target follows Viettel Post’s impressive 2013 results.

“We have officially joined Vietnam’s club of enterprises with revenues of VND1 trillion ($48 million) on November 28, 17 days earlier than outlined in our target for 2013. Our dreams have come true,” said the corporation’s general director Luong Ngoc Hai.

Viettel Post had previously set an annual revenue target of VND1.015 trillion ($48.3 million) for 2013, with the expectation that this target would be hit in mid-December. However, the corporation exceeded its target on November 28.

“With this growth, we will earn revenues of about VND1.12 trillion ($53.3 million) for this year, up 126 per cent against 2012. This achievement has affirmed that our business direction is quite correct. It is also the result of the big efforts made by the corporation’s staff nationwide and overseas,” Hai said.

The achievement was also made possible due to Viettel Post’s implementation of several key programmes.

For example, Viettel Post has worked with China’s Guangxi EMS Company in delivering goods and products within China and Vietnam since August 2013.

The corporation has also been co-operating with the state-run Military Insurance Company (MIC) which uses Viettel Post’s express delivery and office stationery services, and has promoted its brand name on Viettel Post’s envelopes. MIC has also introduced Viettel Post’s services to its customers and partners since May this year.

Viettel Post directly distributes MIC’s insurance products to customers via its transaction outlets nationwide, while MIC insures Viettel Post’s assets and responsibilities through preferential insurance policies.

Viettel Post has also since early this year boosted the operation of online express delivery services, while strengthening traditional express delivery services. Revenue from these online-based services holds a five per cent share of total express delivery services.

Viettel Post has also continued developing its delivery services to all hamlets and communes nationwide. The corporation has also sustainably expanded its co-operation programmes to regional markets, including Cambodia, China and Singapore.
