The Vietnam National Drama Theatre is going to perform Shakespeare’s Hamlet at Singapore’s Victoria Theatre during March 23-27.

The performance is one of the activities to join the global Shakespeare Year 2016. Besides performing at the theatre, the troupe will also talk to Vietnamese students in Singapore. The expenses are all covered by beverage company Tan Hiep Phat.

In the talk with the students, Tan Hiep Phat’s Tran Qui Thanh, the Thanh in the Dr. Thanh brand, is going to share his experience in starting up a company in order to help the students make career choices. On this occasion, the company, in cooperation with the Vietnam Youth Association and the Vietnam National Drama Theatre, is going to give scholarships to six excellent students.

According to director of the Vietnam National Drama Theatre Nguyen The Vinh, the performance is the start of the cooperation between the theatre and the private sector, and is also a chance for the theatre to become closer with Vietnamese and foreign audience.

“Tan Hiep Phat is not just a sponsor but a companion. Trips like these are going to be a big encouragement to artists and nourish their passion for their art,” he said.
