A famous Vietnamese model/actress has been arrested and temporarily detained for attacking and insulting police in the capital city of Hanoi on February 26, local media said Saturday.

Tran Thi Trang, 30, known as Trang Tran, was officially arrested on the evening of February 27. Trang was also temporarily detained for further investigation into her offense, Hanoi’s Hoan Kiem District police announced.

Trang Tran and her friends were in a taxi driving in the wrong direction on Hanoi’s Dao Duy Tu Street on February 26. When it was stopped by police officers, the Vietnamese model started reacting negatively.

She stepped out of the car, was uncooperative and showed contempt, insulted and even attacked the police officers.

The model was taken to the police station due to her abusive behavior and actions against law enforcement officers on duty, where she continued to insult other police officers.

Trang has been arrested for further investigation into her offense, including her act of insulting officers.

Tran Thi Trang was born in 1985. She won several prizes in the model industry in 2008 and often takes part in big, well-known fashion events.

The Vietnamese model recently appeared in “Huong Ga,” a film released in 2014 by local director Cuong Ngo, playing a criminal wanted by police.
