Vietnamese Elite Model Look contest commences this month

The first season of the Vietnamese Elite Model Look contest will commence with a selection round in Ha Noi on July 20.

The next round will be held in HCM City on July 26 and 27; in Da Nang on August 2; and in Can Tho on August 9 and 10.

The jury comprises General Director of Elite Vietnam Nguyen Thi Thuy Nga, French expert Henri Hubert and model Ha Anh.

The contest will have a regional round, a national round and the final round. The 20 contestants who make it to the final round will have a 10-day training course.

The winner will walk away with a cash award and other prizes worth a total of VND600 million (US$27,270), and will represent Viet Nam at the international Elite Model Look contest to be held in Paris in November.

The Elite Model Look (known as Look of the Year from 1983 to 1995) is an annual fashion modeling event held by Elite Model Management, an international model management group.

The contest is held to discover and launch female models in the international fashion marketplace, similar to the Ford Models' Supermodel of the World contest. Each year, the contest attracts some 350,000 participants from roughly 70 countries in the world, with selections being held in more than 800 cities.
